Functionality of The Cell

Key Functions:
The Institutions’ Innovation Council (IIC) under the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) primarily functions to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within higher education institutions (HEIs).
• Promoting Innovation: IICs actively encourage students and faculty to explore new ideas and develop them into prototypes.
• Organizing Activities: They conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related events, such as hackathons, idea competitions, and workshops, often involving external experts like investors and mentors.
• Identifying and Rewarding Innovation: IICs recognize and celebrate outstanding innovations and share success stories to inspire others.
• Building Networks: They connect with other IICs, entrepreneurship development organizations, and potential investors to create a strong support system.
• Creating an Innovation Portal: IICs maintain an online platform to showcase innovative projects developed by their institution’s students and faculty.
• Mentoring and Incubation Support: They provide guidance and support to student innovators, including mentorship and access to incubation centers.
• Obtaining Funding: IICs may seek grants and funding from government and non-government sources to support their activities.
